Flying to Paris to write for two years and employing renowned Belgium producer Luuk Cox has paid off big time for Melbourne-based brother and sister alternative pop duo Belle Roscoe, as evident by the 13 indie pop gems contained within Boom Boom.

At times the amount of instrumentation for a two-piece becomes a little too much, but any concerns Julia and Matty Gurry are hiding behind a wall of noise are dissolved with one listen to stripped-back number Bad Man, which features Julia’s lush voice as a solid driving force. It’s rare that every song on an album is single material, but Belle Roscoe have come pretty damn close.
